The Queen Anne, Vauxhall
Features: Covered in graffiti standing alone with a park and railway arches in front and an estate block behind. All windows boarded up, door on the corner with no windows but covered in warning signs and with a close-circuit camera above pointing out. Absolutely no signs of life.
Action: Inside has the feel of a roadhouse bar. No daylight, very little light at all. American pool table immediately ahead through the door (in use), small triangular pit-like stage with three chrome poles surrounded by mushroom stools to the left. Headed for a corner to the side of the bar. Copy of Sunday Sport open on the bar. 3 half-hearted strippers in quick rotation on the stage, money collected in a Hamlet tin. Neon Budweiser signs and big angled mirrors on every wall. Big screen pulled down showing football on the far wall. Elaborate graffiti on toilet ceiling looked to have been done with burnt wine cork. Surprisingly jovial little barman. Few people in there (all male) near the toilets, one fat bloke sitting pride of place on the far side of the pit chatting to the strippers between sets. All strippers took the opportunity to stick their arses in his face whilst on stage. He returned the favour with a closed eyes sniffing motion.

Tragically this was done up some time in Sep/Oct 07 and is now a much classier affair (relatively speaking.) However, it's still ostensibly a stripclub so the faint odour of seediness remains.
How gutted was I having made a special journey to the QA only to find it freshly painted tangerine orange...
its not that bad
This has now closed following the murder of the owner abroad.
Had my first pint in here as a working man in 1986 and my Stag Night here in 1993 sad to hear it has closed. It was dodgy, dirty, seedy and girm but strangly enjoyable. m
Its a good gaff .just bad rep. Shame about denise she was lovely !!
whilst in the navy and being stationed in London back in the early 80's some of us used the QA every Friday, a strange place indeed but enjoyable well worth the trip for the fun and frolics of the strippers, some of whom had seen better days but what the hell I was a young sailor and they had a pulse, I remember going back to visit it in the early 90's and still had a chuckle, plus I had been thrown out of worse places in the world, shame its closed was just talking to a fella at work about the place this morning he then sent me the link,
My nan and Granddad George and Rita owned The Queen for years before they sold up,LOL I still think about the place now and then ...
There's SHOCKING news in the sports betting world.
It has been said that any bettor needs to see this,
Watch this or quit betting on sports...
Sports Cash System - SPORTS GAMBLING ROBOT
Worked there in the 1980's. Jack the Ripper. George and his wife owned it and their daughter Linda took it over. One of the most bizarre experiences.
Thank you for Great Article!!
The Horns is a strip club in London. We have beautiful and sexy dancers performing table dancing. Come and enjoy with the hottest strippers
Had a few good evenings there with various mates over the years. Looked dodgy but never any trouble there. Sorry to hear about the owner.

Thanks for sharing such great information with us. I hope you will share some more info about "Sports bar". Please keep sharing.

I knew george and rita, my mum was rita,
Look at the way my colleague Wesley Virgin's report starts with this SHOCKING and controversial VIDEO.
As a matter of fact, Wesley was in the military-and soon after leaving-he found hidden, "mind control" tactics that the CIA and others used to obtain anything they want.
These are the same secrets tons of famous people (notably those who "became famous out of nothing") and elite business people used to become wealthy and famous.
You probably know that you use only 10% of your brain.
That's mostly because the majority of your brainpower is UNCONSCIOUS.
Perhaps this conversation has even occurred INSIDE OF YOUR own head... as it did in my good friend Wesley Virgin's head around 7 years back, while riding an unlicensed, beat-up garbage bucket of a vehicle without a driver's license and $3 on his bank card.
"I'm so frustrated with going through life check to check! When will I become successful?"
You've taken part in those types of conversations, ain't it right?
Your success story is waiting to be written. All you need is to believe in YOURSELF.

I bartender at the Queen Anne way back in the early 70’s, whilst working at the UNA on the Embankment. I loved it, but was a little
Intimidated by the clientele and the owner. There we’re reputedly special branch cops drinking most nights, spending money like it was going out of fashion, and the owner was said to have knocked a previous bar tender into the cellar with a cricket bat. Returned there a couple of years ago to find a tea house there, but could still see the outline of the old bar in the wood floor. Any memories to help me here?
in the mid 90s, you might have seen Craig Charles drinking in there, he had a flat somewhere in Vauxhall.
I remember being in there one night chatting with a mate - no cigarettes left and no money. Young lady came round the glass to collect her money before her dance as usual. I showed her my empty pockets and empty cigarette box and the half I was nursing gently. I promised that I would turn my back and not watch as I could not pay.
She came back 2 minutes later with a pint and 20 Bensons. I don't know who she was, but that beautiful touch of kindness to a total stranger has stayed with me for nearly 30 years.
Thanks for the memory.
I used to work at walker books just near by (published wheres wally books) and a few of us finally got the courage to venture in past the blacked out windows. As described, dark dingy seedy, strippers on rotation, men huddled on seats afoot from the stage leering, the tin mug walked around for donations.. It was like stepping back to old old. Days. It was everything it should have been and more, beautiful and such a shame an iconic venue has met it's demise and for such a tragic story as to the murder abroad of the landlady. A true memory I'll never forget.
Ps Craig Charles was outside (and Inside I'm sure) most days when I walked past. Bless him :)
Used to install fruit machines around this area back in the late 90’s and early 00’s. And this job in the QA used to take twice as long than the other pubs for obvious reasons. Shame about the owner and what the pub has become.
